Face Down in the Dirt

I was walking around campus earlier today and they were playing this song at a booth. I think they were selling tickets to the band's upcoming concert actually. :P

Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (http://youtu.be/6Ux6SlOE9Qk)

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is a kind of punk/emo/rock band that was formed in Middleburg, Florida in the year 2003. They gained much of their popularity through the social site, MySpace (which still is alive by the way). Face Down was released in 2007 on their actual debut album, Don't You Fake It, and did very well, reaching the top forty on several charts including those in the U.S. and New Zealand.

If you listen, the song is actually pretty nice. It tells the story of a young women dealing with a violent relationship.

Fallen Kingdom

Now I probably wouldn't do this normally, but I just found a parody so good that I just had to share it. I'm sorry if it's weird, but it was just so good! ;)

"Fallen Kingdom" - A Minecraft Parody of Coldplay's Viva la Vida (http://youtu.be/I-sH53vXP2A)

I realize that most of you aren't much of a gamer like I am. You probably aren't even anywhere near that. So I'm going to enlighten you.

Minecraft is a sandbox style game (you can do what you want) that was officially released in November of last year by a Swedish designer named Markus "Notch" Persson. As you can see from the video, its nothing but a world composed of three-dimensional block that the player can build and create things with.

Now just imagine the creativity and amount of time put into this parody (that's actually quite moving eh?). The ones that made this not only had to come up with lyrics, but they also had to build an entire kingdom in-game! And then they had to make a perfect little cinematic sequence to go with it! Great huh? :P
