Go, Go!

I feel like bringing back some old memories with this morning's post. Don't ask about it though. :P

Ike Ike by Hinoi Team (http://youtu.be/pYqjeB7Q-g4)

This song goes under a group of Japanese songs known fondly as "Para Para" songs. Para Para got its start in the early 1980s in Japan and is meant to be a group dance. It's like a club dance, but much much more synchronized (like line dancing). Most Para Para dances pair large amounts of upper-body movements with a slight back-and-forth movement of the legs and, of course, music with a bit of eurobeat flavor.

The Hinoi Team is just one of many groups that attempt this type of song. They got their start in 2005 in Osaka, Japan and have actually released several DVDs and CDs of their songs and dances. Unfortunately, they aren't very active today. I'm definitely hoping for a comeback though!

If for some reason one of you actually wants to attempt to learn the dance, here's a mirror version of the video so you can learn it correctly. Be warned though, it is very hard!! (I've tried, but don't tell!)
